Secret Backstory of a Meeple (2025)

What if meeples (character figurines) came to life when we looked away?
Here are some of our Adventurers’ insights into the Secret Backstory of a Meeple.

Empire Verse

Adventurers were given the opportunity to create verses to open and close our Empire Sessions.

Here are the two verses!

Reimagined Box Art

If you were to reimagine the box art for your favourite game, how might you do it?

Champion

This term we created personal Champions that display a unique ability or item.
Come explore the mages, rogues, rangers and so much more!

Dragon’s Lair

What kind of dragon speaks to your heart?
Students created dynamic dragons, showing off their powers in their lair.
They also wrote an accompanying page describing their Dragon’s personality, powers, weaknesses, lair, and treasure.

A New Perspective:
Empire Logo

Seeing with fresh eyes, children interpreted Empire’s E and brought their imaginations to life.
Watch our logo transform into all different visions!

 Colour Poem

What colour do you like to play as?
Empire attendees created “Colour Poems” engaging the senses to celebrate their favourite playing colour.

 Haiku

Students were invited to create a haiku poem to honour their favourite game.
The format of 5 - 7 - 5 syllables was used. Which ones speak to you?

 My Fantasy Kingdom

Attendees were invited to create a fantasy kingdom, colour it in, and include a creature from their realm. Then, colours for the flag and a compelling name. Can you see all these elements coming to life?

 Redesigned Game Box

How would you reimagine cover art? Game boxes that students love were redesigned to feature iconic elements from the game. Students had to ensure they noted the player count, recommended age, and length of playtime. A bold, legible title and attractive colours is a must.

 A Curious Creature

The invitation was to create a fantasy creature, which could be a combination of different animals. A background environment would show its home and, of course, it needs a name!

 A Surprising Spell

What if you had a new magic power? Students scribed their own spell scrolls, complete with method, ingredients, and effect.

 A Game Poster

Which ones catch your eye? Children created a poster to promote a game that they loved from Empire. A bold title and engaging colours is very captivating.

 My Family Crest

Ah yes, your famous family crest. What symbols, designs and colours does it have?
There were special words, or a phrase too, right? Show us your brilliant design.
